London Borough of Lewisham

Lewisham Local Authority and their Building Schools for the Future (BSF) partner, VTfourS, approached Impleo to transform a sports hall into a multi-media learning area at the newly built Prendergast-Ladywell Fields College. The installation of an 8 metre, high definition, cinema-style projection screen and sound system, combined with the already installed theatrical lights, has brought the sports hall to life.

Lewisham Local Authority School PhotoThe screen can be used to show video and computer based content from multiple sources simultaneously, all easily controlled through a simple hand-held, touch screen controller.  Different combinations from one full screen image through to four completely separate sources all showing at the same time can be achieved.

Impleo also installed a 5 metre cinematic projection screen with a Dolby 5.1 surround sound system into an existing classroom at Bonus Pastor Catholic College. This installation has given the school the opportunity to use a 'test modelling environment' prior to them making decisions around technologies for their new build under the BSF programme.

Tom Cooper, Strategic Leader ICT, Lewisham explains,

At Lewisham we are dedicated to the inclusion of innovative technologies in our schools to enhance the learning experience of the students.  We wanted to work with Impleo in order to help us achieve this as they have proven capabilities in delivering pioneering technologies into schools.  I felt they understood our requirements and are committed to working closely with us to achieve our objectives.
